NANCY

The Nancy region is located 40 km to the east of the Raglan Mine (Xstrata Nickel), on the east part of the Wakeham property. Six targets have been identified in the Nancy area, namely Emperor, Surtsey, Nancy East, Nancy East 2, Nancy Main and Delasco.  Significant surface grab samples from the Nancy area include 0.403% Ni, 0.298% Cu and 0.724g/t PGE+Au from the Nancy target, 0.409% Ni, 0.128% Cu and 0.183g/t PGE+Au from Nancy East 2, and 0.392% Ni, 0.343% Cu and 0.818g/t PGE+Au from Delasco (Table 1). The Nancy East 2 target was traced on surface along strike for up to 1000 m. Grab samples of disseminated sulphide-bearing peridotite and olivine pyroxenite returned assays of up to 0.554% Ni, 0.181% Cu and 0.299g/t PGE+Au. Drilling has not been undertaken on the Nancy East 2 target.

Drilling in 2006 extended the area of known surface mineralization to depth and to the south and east. Holes Wak06-03 and Wak06-04 were drilled on the same section and intersected weakly disseminated mineralization down-plunge to the west of the main Nancy showings. Wak06-03 intersected 6 m of 0.11% Ni, 0.02% Cu and 0.030g/t PGE+Au from 65 m down hole and 1 m of 0.15% Ni, 0.02% Cu and 0.080g/t PGE+Au from 74 m down hole (see news release February 27, 2007). Wak06-04 intersected 4 m of 0.13% Ni, 0.03% Cu and 0.100g/t PGE+Au (Table 2).

The Emperor showing is hosted in the base of a major peridotite-gabbro sill that has a coincident shallow electromagnetic conductor. Drillhole Wak06-05 intersected 0.16 m of vein mineralization which assayed 0.44% Ni, 0.05% Cu and 0.884g/t PGE+Au from 11.43 m down hole. Wak06-07 intersected 1 m of disseminated mineralization grading 0.06% Ni, 0.13% Cu and 0.305g/t PGE+Au from 87.15 m down hole (Table 2).

Drilling on the Nancy region confirmed the down-dip continuity of the host ultramafic sills and disseminated nature of the mineralization mapped on surface. Disseminated mineralization is associated with the peripheries of high-grade massive sulphide mineralization in the Raglan district and nickel deposits elsewhere. The target at Nancy is high grade massive sulphide Ni-Cu-PGE deposits located within deeper structural settings associated with west-plunging fold closures evident in field mapping and geomagnetic images. The Wakeham property consists of a strategic land position along the eastern extension of the Raglan Horizon within Chukotat Group rock units that host Xstrata’s Raglan Mine, and the Nancy area showings on the Goldbrook properties.
